Lt. Gen. Naveen Rawlley

Gen Naveen Rawlley, an OC, passed away a couple of days ago. He had a very distinguished military career and was the most decorated army officer of his time, culminating with his becoming Vice Chief of Army and he remained hon. Col of the 4th Guards. He was a regular at all OC functions till his failing health restricted his activities. I attended his funeral on 4/11/04 and took the liberty of taking a wreath with me with the wordings "on behalf of BCS, Simla and all OCs". He was given a funeral with full military honours. I was given the courtesy of a military escort when my turn came to place the wreath at his pyre. His family was very touched by the gesture and asked me to pass on their thanks to the School and OCs. Indeed a very distinguished OC has passed on.
Regards,
Mohit Goyal (Lefroy, 58 - 62)
Mohit's gesture is true to character and the spirit of an Old Cottonian. The incident is touching. It honours a distinguished OC. It honours Mohit for his warm and touching act on behalf of us all. Proud moments for The School for the products it created !!
I have scanned from this morning's Times of India, the obituary notice issued by his regiment.
 My kind regards
 Sincerely
 Vijay Khurana
