OCA UK 2013 Luncheon reminder / wishing Dr Humayun Khan well

Dear Old Cottonians

Reminder for all OC’s that the annual luncheon for the UK Chapter is on Saturday 29 June 2013 at 12 noon at the Bombay Brasserie, Gloucester Road, London. All OC’s and family members are invited to attend. If you have any queries then please contact Gursant Sandhu on +44 77 8871 6525 or send an e-mail to gursant@yahoo.com. Gursant will be please to assist.

The OCA (UK) and all friends would like to wish Dr Humayun Khan very best wishes for his complete recovery soon, after the 3 months treatment he has been under in London. He is returning home with his family so will miss the Annual OCA Lunch – where his amazing prowess as ‘raconteur par excellence’, always adds something special to the event. Neither will he be able to attend the lunch given by Peter and Maggie Stringer nor visit Bob and Gilly Myers in Somerset, where he was also going to watch Australia play Somerset.

Dr. Humayun Khan, who was Foreign Secretary and Ambassador for Pakistan, led the first group of OCs from Pakistan to visit BCS, 62 years after leaving, following the Partition. He has been a keen supporter of BCS, the OCA and regularly comes over in June to London to meet up with OCs. The OCA(UK) donation towards a school, following the earthquakes there a few years ago, was supervised by his wife to the benefit of the children in their new school.

We look forward to having him join us next year at our Annual Lunch.
